The Florida Panthers' coaching search reportedly can't be completed yet because they are interested in interviewing members of playoff squads.

The Panthers reportedly have interest in Predators assistant coach Phil Housley and Capitals assistant coach Todd Reirden, but they can't be interviewed while their teams are in the playoffs. Washington was eliminated on Wednesday, so Reirden can now be approached, but Housley's Predators advanced to the Western Conference Final. It's believed that the Panthers have interviewed Michel Therrien and University of Denver coach Jim Montgomery.

Aleksander Barkov (back) is feeling good this off-season.

The injury forced Barkov to miss 21 games in 2016-17, including the final six of the regular season. The good news, is that he didn't need to have surgery to repair the injury. Barkov says he's already begun training for next season. It sounds like he's going to be 100 percent healthy heading into training camp. The Panthers forward scored 21 goals and 52 points in just 61 games.

Speaking to Sportsnet, Florida Panthers GM Dale Tallon revealed he is expected to meet with Jaromir Jagr's agent at the upcoming World Hockey Championships.

Tallon also added that he is optimistic that he can get Jagr back to Florida for at least one more season. It's encouraging news considering Jagr didn't seem too optimistic himself about his chances of returning to the Panthers at the conclusion of the season.

Aaron Ekblad said he felt 100 percent after the season ended and he doesn't expect to have any lingering effects from the head injuries he suffered this year.

He admitted that it was hard to bounce back initially because he wasn't mentally ready for contact again, but he felt more like himself again in mid-January before he ended up back on the sidelines at the end of the campaign. Ekblad registered a career-low 10 goals and 21 points in 68 games. He also had a team-worst minus-23 rating, but he is confident that he will get back on track in 2017-18.

If Aleksander Barkov could just stay healthy he could be a top-15 player in the NHL.

The 21-year-old is one of the best two-way pivots in the NHL. Barkov led the Panthers in scoring with 52 points even though he missed 21 games due to injuries. He was also a team-best plus 13. If he can avoid injuries that have plagued him the past two campaigns, he could be a point-per-game player and a Selke Trophy nominee. Don't forget him on draft day.

Roberto Luongo isn't worried about being claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights during this summer's expansion draft.

Each team is allowed to protect one goalie, so there's a chance the Panthers could opt to protect James Reimer instead of Luongo, but Luongo isn't worried about being claimed by the expansion team. "I'm old as dirt," said Luongo. "They don't want me." He might have a point. Luongo just turned 38 and he's dealing with a bad hip. The fact that the veteran has five years remaining on his contract also makes him an unattractive option for an expansion team.

Jaromir Jagr didn't seem overly optimistic about his chances of returning to the Florida Panthers for his 24th NHL season.

"I don't want to talk about anything," said Jagr, 45, who ranks second on the NHL all-time list in points (1,914), third in goals (765), fifth in assists (1,149) and fourth in games played (1,711). "Just wait and see and whatever happens, happens. Of course, there's going to be some kind of changes. That's what the owners want and it's already starting." He played in all 82 games this season and recorded 46 points. That is 20 fewer than the total he accumulated during his first full season with the Panthers. Depending on the situation he finds himself in next season, he will likely still warrant fantasy consideration.

Jussi Jokinen is dealing with an MCL injury, but it's believed that he won't require surgery.

He didn't play in the last three games of the season and won't play in the IIHF World Championships due to some lingering issues that he is rehabbing through.

Florida GM Dale Tallon doesn't expect Roberto Luongo to need additional surgery.

He had hip surgery last off-season and didn't play after March 2 because of a core injury. Tallon sees Luongo returning to his role as the number goalie in 2017-18.

Tom Rowe will not return as the Florida Panthers head coach or general manager.

Rowe became the Panthers' general manager last spring and he assumed the role of interim head coach in November after firing Gerard Gallant. The 2016-17 campaign was a rough one for the Panthers as they went from a playoff team to one that posted a 35-36-11 record. Dale Tallon will resume his old job as general manager while still maintaining his title as president of hockey operations. The Panthers will look for a new head coach.

Jaromir Jagr skated in all 82 games in 2016-17.

It marked the first time that Jagr has appeared in every game since the 2013-14 season when he was a member of the Devils. The 45-year-old winger contributed 16 goals and 30 assists this campaign.

James Reimer will be back in goal Sunday against the Capitals.

There was some talk that Reto Berra would ge the call after Reimer started Saturday and won against the Sabres, but that is not the case. Reimer will get the Cats' last start of the season.
