Joc Pederson was diagnosed with a neck strain following Tuesday night's outfield collision with Yasiel Puig.

Pederson also suffered some minor cuts on his forehead when he stumbled head-first into the right-center field wall, but he cleared MLB's concussion protocol and is expected to avoid the disabled list. That's excellent news given the violence of the collision. Pederson and Puig were both laughing in the clubhouse after the Dodgers' 13th-inning walkoff win over the Cardinals.

Yasmani Grandal launched his fifth home run of the season in Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Grandal has been lights out since April 29, going 26-for-64 (.406) with 10 doubles, two homers and 15 RBI to raise his average from a paltry .194 to .298. He has hit safely in five straight and 14 of the past 15 to emerge as a must-start fantasy option across all formats until he starts to cool.

Logan Forsythe (foot) posted a game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the 13th inning in Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Forsythe was hitless in four at-bats with a walk and four strikeouts before providing the heroics in extras. It was his first game since April 18 due to a fracture in his right big toe. Forsythe will continue to fill in at the hot corner until Justin Turner (hamstring) is ready to return, then he'll move back to his usual spot at second base.

Clayton Kershaw allowed one earned run, three hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts across nine innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Kershaw had it going on again, but he was matched by Lance Lynn in a pitcher's duel eventually decided in the 13th inning. It was the first time in 10 starts this season that Kershaw hasn't factored into the decision. He has rolled up seven innings or more in four consecutive starts and seven of the past eight.

Joc Pederson left Tuesday's game in the Cardinals after an outfield collision with Yasiel Puig.

Pederson took an elbow to the face from Puig before crashing head-first into the outfield wall. Both players were running full-speed on a liner to right-center that Puig actually managed to haul in. Pederson laid sprawled on the ground in obvious pain for a couple of minutes before eventually walking off slowly alongside team trainers. Enrique Hernandez took over in center field.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Chris Taylor could soon see starts in the outfield.

Logan Forsythe (toe) just returned from the disabled list, crowding the situations at second and third base. Roberts wants to continue finding regular starts for Taylor, who's slashing .333/.446/.583 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 29 games.

Dodgers released OF Tyler Holt.

Holt struggled at both Double-A and Triple-A in the Dodgers' system, and he batted just .235/.327/.296 for the Reds in 2016. The 28-year-old outfielder will have to settle for another non-guaranteed minor league deal.

Yasiel Puig (back) is in the Dodgers' starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Cardinals.

Puig missed some action this weekend with mild back tightness. He will start in right field and bat eighth Tuesday versus Cardinals right-hander Lance Lynn.

Andrew Toles underwent season-ending surgery Tuesday for a torn ACL.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles. Toles tore his right ACL while trying to track down a ball in left field back on May 9 at Dodger Stadium. He is under the Dodgers' control for close to the major league minimum in 2018.

Dodgers activated 2B/3B Logan Forsythe from the 10-day disabled list.

Forsythe will return as the Dodgers' fill-in third baseman on Tuesday night against the Cardinals with Justin Turner nursing a Grade 1 hamstring strain. He'll also bat leadoff. Chris Taylor and Chase Utley will continue to platoon at second base. Forsythe was batting .295/.407/.341 in 54 plate appearances with Los Angeles before landing on the disabled list April 19 with a fracture in his right big toe. He should be activated immediately in fantasy leagues.

Dodgers optioned RHP Josh Ravin to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Ravin was only in the majors for one game and did not see an appearance. The right-hander has posted good numbers this season in the minor leagues.

Dodgers prospect Willie Calhoun homered on Sunday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

After not homering in the first two weeks of the season, Calhoun now has nine. He's also done this while only striking out 17 times this season, which speaks to his power and his hand-eye coordination. There are serious defensive concerns here, but Calhoun can really hit, and the Dodgers would do well to find somewhere for him to play.

Dodgers prospect Alex Verdugo went 3-for-4 on Sunday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Verdugo also scored two runs, and drew a walk as well. With Cody Bellinger up and crushing big-league pitching, Verdugo is the Dodgers top offensive prospect in their system. The hit tool is plus, and while there isn't much power, he should hit enough doubles to compensate. At some point in 2017, you should see him get a chance to hit at the highest level.

The Dodgers are experimenting with using outfielder Brett Eibner as a pitcher.

The Dodgers still plan to use Eibner primarily as an outfielder, but proving himself as a pitcher could help him justify a roster spot. He has thrown several bullpen sessions to build arm strength and work on his secondary pitches. "He’s got a great arm," said Dodgers pitching coach Rick Honeycutt. "We’ll start fine-tuning a little bit and see if there’s something there." Eibner, 28, played the outfield and pitched at the University of Arkansas from 2008-10.

Yasiel Puig (back) struck out as a pinch-hitter in Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Puig was held out of the starting lineup for the second straight day due to back tightness, but it seems like he's moving in the right direction. Consider him day-to-day.
