Gavin Floyd underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and flexor muscle in his right elbow.
The surgeon told the White Sox that the operation "could not have gone better." However, since he needed two major areas operated on, the recovery is expected to be 14-19 months rather than the standard 12 months for Tommy John surgery. With that timetable, Floyd probably shouldn't be counted on for a whole lot in 2014. He'll be a free agent over the winter.

White Sox transferred RHP Gavin Floyd from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Mike McDade on the 40-man roster. Floyd is slated to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on his right elbow and will likely miss the early part of 2014.

Gavin Floyd needs Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery and is expected to miss the next 14-19 months.
USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported the news this weekend and it was confirmed by the White Sox on Monday. Floyd will be out for the remainder of the 2013 season and a large chunk of the 2014 campaign. He had a 5.18 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 25/12 K/BB ratio in 24 1/3 innings this year before injuring both his flexor muscle and ulnar collateral ligament in late April. Floyd, 30, will be a free agent in November.

USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that Gavin Floyd "tentatively" plans to have Tommy John surgery.
The main issue with Floyd's elbow is a tear of his flexor muscle. However, his ulnar collateral ligament is also unstable, and if a doctor just went in to operate on his flexor muscle, there's a good chance the ligament would be damaged further. Floyd will receive a third opinion on Monday, but, barring a surprise, expect him to have season-ending surgery.

Beckham, who had surgery last month to remove the hamate bone from his left hand, will begin a rehab assignment on Saturday. The White Sox have been using Jeff Keppinger at second base and will welcome the defensive upgrade with Beckham.

Jeff Keppinger hit for the first baseman in the fifth inning. Spasms are generally a day-to-day thing, so we'll have to see how Dunn is feeling Sunday before knowing if he'll have to miss some games. It's unfortunate timing, too, as Dunn has been heating up at the plate.

Danks will make what could be his final rehab start with Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday. The left-hander holds a 3.00 ERA over three rehab outings, but he has a 10/9 K/BB ratio over 18 innings and his velocity remains down. Fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach, though he would get a nice first matchup against the Marlins if he returns next weekend.
