Dallas coach Rick Carlisle hinted that he's not ready to commit to Yogi Ferrell as his starting point guard for next season.
"Time will tell," Carlisle said. "I do like Yogi in our franchise, on our roster. He certainly has proven that he can be a rotation player in this league. We didn't have a good record. At this point in time, projecting exactly where he's going to be is not really fair. I love him as a competitor. He's grown each and every day, each and every game. I'm just really thrilled we have him here." Ferrell said he believes he's a starting point guard, but added that he will accept any role he is given. It's too early to project his role for 2017-18, but Ferrell likely earned a spot in the rotation after averaging 11.3 points, 4.3 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.7 triples.
