Marlins manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday that A.J. Ellis (hamstring) will be held back "a few more days" due to his lingering hamstring issue.
Ellis has been dealing with left hamstring soreness for a couple of weeks now, but Mattingly isn't concerned about his readiness for Opening Day. The 35-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Marlins over the winter and is slated to serve as J.T. Realmuto's backup this season. Tue, Mar 14, 2017 10:09:00 AM
