Julio Teheran allowed nine runs, including three home runs, over three innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Thursday.
Teheran may have allowed his emotions to get the best of him, as he made it a point to plunk Jose Bautista in the game's first inning as payback for Freddie Freeman's fractured wrist suffered the night before. It's hard to say, but after that HBP he allowed a single and two doubles before the inning ended, and things only got worse from there. Teheran even yielded a solo homer to opposing pitcher Marcus Stroman. He's been prone to some ugly lines this year, many aided by multiple homers allowed, and it all adds up to a disappointing 5.47 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in nine starts. He'll try to get back on the right track Tuesday against the Pirates. Thu, May 18, 2017 11:34:00 PM
