World No. 4 Hideki Matsuyama spun a 5-under-par 34-33=67 in today's final round of the 2017 Masters and concludes his sixth appearance on 1-under 287, up 15 places on the live leaderboard to T13 and good for the low round in the clubhouse. UPDATE: With play completed, Matsuyama finished T11 and his 67 was the low round of the day, later matched by Matt Kuchar.
It was an up-and-down week for the 25-year-old, posting rounds of 76-70-74-67. He's right on the bubble for his third straight top 10 at Augusta National after solo 5th in 2015 and T7 last year. Matsuyama entered the week No. 2 in the FedExCup standings, 153 points shy of Dustin Johnson, who DNS due to a back injury incurred from a pre-tourney fall down the steps, and won't surpass him this week. In the finale, he striped 11 (of 14) fairways and pelted 15 greens in regulation, recording 1.72 average putts per hole and two 3-putts. Matsuyama, one of three multiple winners on TOUR this year, squared bogeys at Nos. 6 and 11, outbalanced by seven birdies at 2, 7, 8, 10, 13, 15 and 17. Sun, Apr 9, 2017 04:41:00 PM
