Jeff Hendrick was shown a straight red as Burnley were defeated 2-1 at Watford on Saturday.
Despite being one of the best sides at home, Burnley's miserable away record continued at Vicarage Road. Sean Dyche's side, who have not won an away match this season, got off to a torrid start when midfielder Jeff Hendrick was sent to the stands after just six minutes for a two-footed challenge on Jose Holebas. Things went from bad to worse shortly thereafter when Troy Deeney headed home to give Watford the lead just four minutes later, while M'Baye Niang doubled the margin right before the break. The Clarets mounted a comeback in the second half and pulled one back when Ashley Barnes converted a penalty in the 78th-minute, after Sebastion Prodl used his arm to deflect a Joey Barton strike in the box. However, the deficit proved too much to over come. The loss drops Burnley to 12th with 29 points, one point behind 10th place Watford. Sat, Feb 4, 2017 12:56:00 PM
