Paul Goldschmidt went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

Goldschmidt whacked a two-run home run off Brandon McCarthy in the first inning to give the Diamondbacks a 2-0 lead, but they would not score again in the contest. The dinger was his third of the young season. In addition, Goldy is slashing .257/.409/.457 in 70 at-bats. That average should start to normalize as the season progresses -- he has never finished with an average lower than .286 in a season in which he has received at least 500 at-bats.

Jake Lamb went 3-for-4 with a double in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

The double was Lamb's fourth of the season. He is currently working on a seven-game hitting streak and is slashing a strong .315/.386/.562 with four homers and 18 RBI over the course of 73 at-bats.

Brandon McCarthy surrendered two runs on five hits over seven innings of work in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.

McCarthy struck out six and walked one on the afternoon. A two-run home run by Paul Goldschmidt in the first inning represented the entirety of the run-scoring damage on his watch. He will carry a crisp 2.25 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 22/8 K/BB ratio (24 innings) into a home start against the Phillies next time he takes to the mound.
Apr 23 - 7:26 PM

Randall Delgado surrendered three runs on four hits over three innings in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

Delgado was forced into early action after Shelby Miller exited due to an injury following four-plus innings of work. Adrian Gonzalez notched an RBI double against the reliever in the fifth and Yasmani Grandal followed that up with a two-run home run to polish off the scoring on his line. Delgado has surrendered at least one run in five of eight appearances and holds an unsightly 8.03 ERA and 1.46 WHIP on the young season.

Nationals placed RHP Stephen Strasburg on the paternity leave list.

Strasburg will leave to be with his wife Rachel for the birth of the couple's second child. He's scheduled to start against the Rockies in Colorado on Tuesday, but it's likely he'll have that start pushed back until the weekend.
Apr 23 - 7:11 PM

Devon Travis went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Angels.

The Blue Jays trailed 1-0 entering the eighth inning when they finally broke through for some offense. Russell Martin led off the frame with a walk against Deolis Guerra, which Travis then followed with a two-run home run to give the Jays their first lead of the game. He entered Sunday's action having registered just six hits in his first 55 at-bats.

Nick Tepesch is expected to join the Twins on Monday in Texas.

The right-hander would be taking the place of Buddy Boshers who was sent down to Triple-A Rochester after Sunday's game. Tepesch would provide a fresh arm in the bullpen with the ability to go multiple innings.
Apr 23 - 7:09 PM

Ryan Goins went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Angels.

Goins' two-run home run in the ninth inning served as insurance in boosting the Jays to a 6-1 advantage. They would ultimately go on to win 6-2. This was Goins' first homer of the season and supplied his first two RBI in the process. Having received just 20 at-bats to date, there is no fantasy intrigue here.
