Wrapup: Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) hosted two NASCAR top series events this past weekend. On Saturday, the 1.5-mile tri-oval in Las Vegas, Nevada featured the XFINITY Series 200-lap Boyd Gaming 300. The Monster Energy 267-lap Kobalt 400 was held on Sunday afternoon. The Camping World Truck Series will return to action on April 1 with the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 at Martinsville Speedway. The results and upcoming scheduled events for the ARCA Racing Series and the NASCAR Home Tracks are also shown below.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS)
Time Trials: Brad Keselowski (No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion) won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Kobalt 400 with a lap of 193.680 mph. This is his 13th pole in 272 MENCS races. This is his first pole and third top-10 start in 2017. It is his first pole in nine races at LVMS. Martin Truex Jr. (qualified second) posted his second top-10 start of 2017 and his fifth in 12 races at LVMS. Ryan Blaney (third) posted his first top-10 start at LVMS and his first in three races this season. Erik Jones (eighth) was the fastest qualifying rookie. Pole-sitter Keselowski led 89 laps and finished the 267-lap race in fifth place.
Did Not Qualify: None, only 39 cars entered for 40 starting spots.

Results: Martin Truex Jr. (No. 78 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Toyota Camry) won the Kobalt 400, his eighth victory in 408 MENCS races. This is his first victory and second top-10 finish in 2017. It is his first victory and fourth top-10 finish in 12 races at LVMS. Kyle Larson (finished second) posted his second top-10 finish in four races at LVMS and his second top-10 finish in 2017. Chase Elliott (third) posted his first top-10 finish in two races at LVMS. Erik Jones (15th) was the highest finishing rookie.

Standings: Brad Keselowski leads the point standings by two points over Kyle Larson.

NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS)
Time Trials: MENCS regular Kyle Busch won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Boyd Gaming 300 with a lap of 185.580 mph. This is the No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Rowdy Toyota Camry driver's series record-extending 59th pole in 330 NXS races. This is his second pole and second top-10 NXS start in 2017 and his second pole in 13 NXS races at LVMS. Brad Keselowski (qualified second) posted his third top-10 NXS start of 2017 and his sixth in ten NXS races at LVMS. Daniel Suarez (third) posted his second top-10 NXS start at LVMS. Matt Tifft (sixth) was the fastest qualifying rookie. Pole-sitter Busch led 48 laps and finished the 200-lap race in seventh place.
Did Not Qualify: No. 89 Morgan Shepherd, No. 74 Mike Harmon and No. 77 Josh Bilicki.

Results: MENCS regular Joey Logano won the Boyd Gaming 300, his 28th victory in 160 NXS races.  With the victory, Logano moves into sole possession of eighth on the all-time NXS wins list. This was the No. 12 REV Ford Mustang driver's first start in the NXS at the Las Vegas track. Kyle Larson (finished second) posted his second top-10 finish in three NXS races at LVMS. Daniel Suarez (third) posted his third top-10 finish in three NXS races at LVMS. Cole Custer (11th) was the highest finishing rookie.

Standings: Elliott Sadler leads the point standings by four points over Ryan Reed.
